A big thank-you to everyone who helped make out first community BBQ so much fun! We had a huge turnout, ate hundreds of hot dogs, and enjoyed games, treats, free fresh veggies, and good conversation!
Thanks to all of the volunteers and participants, including - first and foremost - our community volunteers and the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society for serving up free hot dogs, drinks and chips for our community. Thanks also to Simon Fraser University, the Point Church, Nesters Market, and the gardeners of Naheeno Park Community Garden for their significant contributions. And it was wonderful to connect with MLA Katrina Chen, Mayor Mike Hurley, City Councillors Pietro Calendino, Mike Hillman, Joe Keithly and James Wang, as well as School Trustees Jen Mezei, Peter Cech and Larry Hayes.
