Sunday April 9: UniverCity Egg Hunt at Serenity

Hi Neighbours!

The UniverCity Easter egg hunt at Serenity is approaching fast!

Event details:

  • Toddler Hunt: 10:00 am, starts at the Serenity Playground (see map below).

  • Kids' Hunt (ages 4-7): 10:15 am, starts in the fire lane opposite Verdant.

  • All children need to bring a basket to collect their eggs in!

Toddlers will look for their eggs at the Serenity Playground. Older kids will have the Serenity neighbourhood to collect eggs. We will hide eggs through the fire lane but not anywhere on the University Crescent side. Please remind your children to respect our neighbours and not cut through people's gardens or bushes and to stay off porches.

For the parents...Nesters will be providing coffee. Please bring a mug to reduce the amount of waste we create!

There will be plastic bins across from Verdant for people to leave the plastic eggs in after the hunt is over so that we can reuse them next year.

Chocolate donations needed:

If you plan to participate it would be great if you can contribute a small donation of chocolate treats that can fit inside a plastic egg. You can drop off donations by Friday, April 7th at one of two locations:

  • Serenity (9229 University Cres), unit 86

  • Fraser unit 3 of 9735 Univercity Cres (the middle row of townhouses - there are two “unit 3”, one in the first row and another in the second!)

Volunteers needed - big kids:

Because of the growing number of kids up here, we will be limiting this year's hunt to 7 years old and under. But, never fear, your older kids can still be involved and receive some chocolate! We'll need a group of older kids who don’t plan on participating in the hunt to help hide the eggs on Easter morning -- these volunteers will receive a special Easter treat for helping out! Please email us via univercitycommunity@gmail.com if your older child would like to help. (between 9:30 am and 10:15 am on the day of the event)

Adult volunteers needed:

We're also looking for some adult volunteers to help at the event this year by directing people to the starting points and replenishing the hidden candy during the hunt. Please email us via univercitycommunity@gmail.com if you can help (between 9:30 and 11:00 am on the day of the event).

Thanks so much, everyone! If you have any questions please contact us via univercitycommunity@gmail.com

Thanks, Bruna, Bryony, Clea, Lianne, Nisa, Tara
